Texas citizens interested in serving as delegates to the July 4, 1997 Texas Constitutional Convention may qualify by printing and completing the following affidavit and mailing it to the address given below:
I, ____________________________________________________, hereby certify that I am representing a group of at least three people, myself included, in the matter of writing a proposed constitution for the nation of Texas at a convention to be convened on the fourth day of July in the year one-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-seven of the Christian calendar and that the witnesses whose signature appears below are two members of that group.
I, and the people I am representing, understand that I shall have but one vote regardless of the number of people I am representing. I hereby certify that the people I am representing understand that I may use my own judgment in proposing, discussing, and voting on the constitution and, further, that they are not obligated to vote in favor of the constitution written by this convention.
I, and my witnesses, certify that we are, or will be at least twenty-one years of age and that we will have domiciled on the soil of Texas not less than six months prior to the fourth day of July in the year one-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-seven of the Christian calendar.

The convention will be convened at 10 a.m., July 4, 1997 at the historic Original Irion County Courthouse in Sherwood, Texas (west of San Angelo near Mertzon). Additional details and information will be forwarded to delegates in the near future.
